Venue: The Rookery Building | Chicago, IL
The Rookery is one of the oldest high-rises in the city and has lots of historical significance. It’s located in the heart of the loop and still remains a landmark. The ceilings provide an abundance of natural light and were redesigned by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1905. I love this building, so being able to shoot here was a real treat. The hints of blue in the cake, flowers, and table settings were subtle and simply beautiful. My favorite spot was the staircase because there were so many angles to shoot from and the windows provided just the right amount of light.
The dress, from Trudie’s Bridal and Formal Wear, was the highlight for me. It was definitely a showstopper! I loved the details within it- absolutely gorgeous! The earrings paired nicely with it too. This shoot made me realize that even the simplest of details can make a statement. I love urban shoots and this one didn’t disappoint!
